Teachers: Your Students are your Legacy |
For students in school, it’s graduation time. Many young students are graduating from one grade to the next and still others are graduating from their high school and taking the next big step on their life’s journey into adulthood. As you graduate, I would ask that you take a moment to reflect on the teachers you had and to commit to your long-term memory those who made a particular impact on your learning journey and what that impact was; as I am about to share with you those who had a particular impact on me on mine. Remember; we are all teachers and all students. by Joseph Paris |

They say that
“up to 70% of Operational Excellence and Continuous improvement programs fail.” Don’t be one of them. Be the exception, not the rule. “Fail to plan, plan to fail.”

How Leadership Impacts KPI’s KPI’s are known for tracking, monitoring, and identifying gaps in the performance of organizational processes. But, do we understand the true meaning of KPI’s and how leadership impact KPI’s? In my many conversations with various industry leaders, KPI’s have been shifting from measuring processes to measuring employee performance and their ability to execute their jobs. Is this how KPI’s were designed and intended to be applied? Is this fair to the employees that have no control over the existing defective processes, have no say in improving and identifying defects, with no ability to change the process without repercussions because of failure, and have no direct management involvement or assistance? CEO’s and their Sausages; Learn to Love them Like They Do To say it’s been an interesting few months would be an understatement, to say the least. Almost always, the CI/OpEx leader will tell me how strategic their program is; how important to the success of the company and how much value they are driving. They speak about all the really great things they have accomplished and are accomplishing. And they tell me how proud they are of their team – how they are consistently making a positive and indelible impact on the company. All really and truly good stuff. But what has been most troubling, but not surprising in the least, is how many OpEx/CI programs have been neutered or outright disbanded. And many Directors of OpEx/CI programs have been released. I know, I have spoken with a great many. By why is that? by Joseph Paris |

In this episode of the SoR podcast, I invited Andrew Chrostowski, Chairman of the Board and Acting CEO of RealWear. We start with discussing what RealWear is all about – and it is one of the coolest systems I have ever seen for employee-enablement. RealWear has designed and developed a head-mounted ruggedized wearable tablet computer that frees-up a worker’s hands for doing dangerous jobs. |
The episode starts with Antlerboy not being his usual joyful self, some would say “hacked-off”, “fed up”, or just “down in the dumps”. And it all come down to too… Too much long stuck indoors, too much disruption to business, too long a hiatus from life, too much time to contemplate his failures, just too much for too long. Some people do not do well in a sensory deprivation chamber. … Let’s fix that… |
I welcome Pavle Sabic, Founder of Tell Me More Ventures, to my first-ever audio and video production of State of Readiness. Pavle is a highly recognized and capable thought leader who’s emphasis is on the human endeavor. |
