Many Continuous Improvement professionals sing high praise of Japan, Japanese business practices, and one of the champions of Japanese industry; Toyota.
But if we take a look at the data, is any of it supported? Deserved?
This article examines the data and the conclusions that can be drawn should give cause for pause.

By Sam Smolik: Excellence is defined as “the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.” Synonyms for excellent and excellence are distinction, first rate, superb, blue chip, choice, first class, five-star, top notch, top shelf, and numero uno. This article contains some of the information from the book for creating a culture of excellence.
People want their company to be excellent, but most companies are good at best. You must work just as hard to be good as to be excellent. If you have a mediocre organization and have frequent incidents, defects, and problems; you work even harder dealing with the problems and always behind.

Podcasts
State of Readiness is a podcast set as a fireside chat between Joseph Paris and a select industry leader. In it, we discuss the guest’s journey and lessons learned so that the listener might not have to pay as much tuition to the “University of Life”
Sam shares his professional journey and the wisdom he gained from having been in senior leadership roles and what it takes to become a high-performance organization. It starts with Goal Zero.
a podcast that delves into the complexity of modern supply chains and logistics.
The US is likely past the worst of its supply-chain nightmare. But which challenges remain and what should we expect in 2022 and beyond?
Global supply chains are at a turning point that’s set to help determine whether logistics headwinds abate soon or keep restraining the global economy.

Operational Excellence Program Design and Deployment
Operational Excellence Program Design and Deployment
They say that “up to 70% of Operational Excellence and Continuous improvement programs fail.”
Don’t be one of them. Be the exception, not the rule.
“Fail to plan, plan to fail.” To help you, your program, and your company to be successful, XONITEK has created a Program Architecting Whitepaper where you will find the best practices for the planning stage of an OpEx/CI program.
If you follow our prescriptive approach, the roll-out of your program will almost be anti-climactic.
Even if you already have a program, you can use it as a benchmark to see how your efforts compare.

Get the Help You Need…
Sometimes we get caught because of an unplanned separation of an employee who was performing a key role in the company or project. Sometimes we have a short-term need for an experienced specialist to help push through a deliverable.
But time is the enemy. This is not a situation where you can take the time to recruit. The need is now, and help is available.

By Alexandr Sidorec; “Ideality” is not utopia. Instead, it is a state of helping to improve and rebuild systems while recognizing the fact that no idealized solution can stay ideal for long.
Such an idealisation unleashes out-of-box thinking because it relaxes self-imposed cognitive constraints (=inertia) and encourages exploration of areas that normally would be untouched due to bias and taboos.
That is why, for any of us to convert the apparently impossible into the possible across supply chains, it is necessary to remove or relax limiting factors.
