Ken Robinson: Do Schools Kill Creativity?

Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson takes to the TED stage and asks us to reconsider the way the international education system is currently structured. He highlights the fact that the current system came into being to meet the needs of industrialism, and as a result of this, it places academic ability on a pedestal while simultaneously severely under emphasizing the value of creativity. Robinson outlines three of the fundamentals of the concept of intelligence, and reiterates that this is not currently adequately reflected in our education system. He goes on to argue that the current education system will not serve us as we move forward, and that there is a great need to rethink the fundamental principles on which we’re educating our children at the moment.
