Sugata Mitra: The Child-Driven Education
Educational scientist Sugata Mitra is the winner of the 2013 TED Prize. In this fascinating TED-Talk, he addresses one of the greatest problems of education; the best teachers and schools don’t exist where they’re needed most. Mitra reflects on research he conducted across the world in order to try and find solutions to this problem. The experiments? He gave self-supervised children access to the internet. The results? He discovered that children will learn how to do what they want to learn how to do. The method? Self-Organized Learning Environments, or SOLE’s, which Mitra believes could revolutionize the education system.
