Bloomberg means that you’re likely to lose out next Christmas, unless you concern yourself with new technology. This friendly warning comes duly filed as a reaction to the story of a guy called Michael Sorkin, who decided to get innovative with 3D printing and take matters into his own hands when the spindle broke off his wife’s sewing machine. Sorkin refused to replace the device, and instead, he bought a 3-D printer and built the part himself. Come four years later and he’s using the technology to change how to make that Swiss watch you might get for Christmas. This amazing technology has now extended even further to the creation of models of figurines used in movies and rings used by jewelers, not to mention the Swiss chocolate industry…
