Free Exchange: Where Did Everyone Go?

The idea that America’s growth potential is no longer what it used to be is old news to many. A number of economists believe that the economic crisis itself sabotaged future economic opportunities by denying startups and other companies on the forefront of innovation of financing and staff. However, Mr Obama’s council pose an alternative perspective. They argue that this economic trend was set in motion long before the recession manifested. Barack Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers recently issued its annual economic report. This report provides three possible explanations for this lower trend rate and weak recovery with regard to free exchange.
