Insight: In fracking culture war, celebs, billionaires and banjos
Reuters reports on the newly found fracking culture war – which is now making its way to Hollywood. As for not so long ago, fracking was a technical term little known beyond the energy industry. But according to Reuters, now it’s coming to Hollywood in the face of the fierce battle between environmentalists and oil firms being played out in several upcoming films. Both sides are using movies to try to win the debate. But in actor Matt Damon’s opinion, viewers should not assume his new movie “Promised Land,” as “a rabid anti-fracking polemic.”
