I recently came off a turn-around project with a metal fabrication company that was in severe distress.
For over 30 years of being in business, they were profitable, even prosperous; including through 2020 when COVID was wreaking havoc on the economy.
So what happened?




I am Joseph Paris. If I were a super-hero, my super-power would be helping people become high-performing individuals as members of high-performing teams in high-performing organizations.

Sometimes we get caught because of an unplanned separation of an employee who was performing a key role in the company or project. Sometimes we have a short-term need for an experienced specialist to help push through a deliverable.

We hear and read a lot about how companies are trying to transform themselves, or that they are launching some transformation initiative. And as expected, there is the corresponding increase in transformation conferences, symposia, articles and books.
But what is “transformation”? And how is that different from disruption? Or even improvement?
Is transformation even possible without the threat of being destroyed otherwise?


Employers don’t hire people – or assign them a project or task – in the hopes they will fail. And employees don’t take on a job, project, or task in the hopes they will fail. On the contraire, the expectations all around are that the outcome will be successful.
But what if is not the relationship that exists? What if you are being set-up to fail? How do you know and what can you do about it?
