Not what it used to be – American higher education
The Economist reports on the growing problem in regard to higher educational institutions in America: They represent declining value for money to their students. While at first glance, American higher education seems to be in good health, in actual fact it is not what it used to be. Actually, there is growing anxiety in America about higher education, in the face of the benefits of obtaining a degree vs rising fees and increasing student debt. With more debt meaning more risk, graduation being is far from certain, and universities spending well beyond their means – this anxiety isn’t going away soon…
