Modern Rosie the Riveter a Path to Women’s Higher Pay
According to Bloomberg, one way to instill the reality of women’s higher pay is their increased participation of in construction training. One good example is Sylas DeMello, who makes $18 an hour and expects $25 once she has her journeyman’s license next year. This is quite step up from her earlier $13-an-hour job as a sous chef. Data reveals that in the U.K., the majority of new apprentices in 2012 were women – and these statistics are surely growing.
