Slaves to the Smartphone
While we may have come to feel a sense of empowerment when armed with our smartphone or other smart devices, what we may be experiencing in reality, is in fact, denial. Skeptics are arguing that what was once the slave has since become the master, and that smartphones are no longer serving us as much as they are holding us hostage to the unsustainable standard of “always on” living. In fact, research has found that hyper connectivity exaggerates some of the most destabilizing trends in the modern workplace. So, what can be done to keep smartphones in their place?
